Honey Scotch Bonnet Wings
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs chicken wings (halved and tips removed)
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons chicken seasoning (Maggi)
- 1 teaspoon all purpose seasoning (Maggi)
- 2 egg whites beaten
Dredge:
- 2 cups flour
- ¼ cup seasoned panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon chicken seasoning
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Vegetable or Canola oil for frying
- 1 whole scotch bonnet pepper (halved)
Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons Smilin Island Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce
Steps:
- Season chicken with powdered seasonings and allow it to marinate for 2-3 hours.
- Combine dredge ingredients and set aside.
- Beat egg whites and pour over chicken just before flouring.
- Heat oil to 360 degrees fahrenheit. Add whole scotch bonnet to flavor oil.
- Flour chicken wings and set them on a plate.
- Fry wings until cooked through and golden.
- Combine all of the sauce ingredients on low heat until they are well combined.
- Toss wings in sauce, garnish with green onions and serve hot.
